Isle of Man Comes of Age!

I am delighted to announce that our Isle of Man Group was recently granted branch status and they had a superb celebration evening last Thursday, which I was fortunate enough to attend.
Congratulations go to Richard Slee, the branch chair, and his team for working so hard to build up the group and activities on the island over the past couple of years.

Thanks also goes to the Isle of Man Business School and our Account Director, Keith Barlow, for getting CIM qualifications and training courses running on the island, which has made a significant impact on the branch application.

The celebration, held at the Sefton Hotel, was a time to highlight achievements so far and look forward to the future. In addition those attending helped raise £126 for the CIM Benevolent Fund with a raffle, the winner of which was Carol Powell who went home with a bottle of champagne!

The branch is a brand champion for the Isle of Man and the evening closed with the unveiling of a new Freedom to Flourish video, which you can see athttp://www.cim-nw.org.uk/f2f.php

Ambassador Visit to Moor Hall

Apologies for not writing for two weeks as I have been organising a trip to our Head Office, Moor Hall, with some of my Ambassadors. Fifteen of us went on Friday, most of whom had never been before to their 'spiritual home', and we had a superb time.

The reason for the trip was for them to get a feel for what The Institute is all about, put faces to names amongst key staff and ask questions directly of each department in order to help them in their role. We then had dinner with Chris Daly, Director of Membership, and generally put the CIM world right.

In my inbox today was the following email from one of the people who attended -

Diane

I'd just like to say how much I enjoyed - and learnt from - the recent trip to Moor Hall and to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for organising it and doing all the driving.

I can now say with certainty that the CIM facilities are excellent & that the passion for marketing among the people I met was second to none. Please pass on my thanks to Chris Daly & all the other CIM staff we met.

I found the visit extremely motivating & it has encouraged me to do my utmost to spread the word about the CIM.

Thanks once again & see you soon.

Jan

That makes it all worthwhile, and I hope the lack of posting for two weeks excusable!
